The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi

So, we are listed as The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi, but our actual location is out here in Haryana State. It sounds a bit confusing to people who aren't from around here, but it makes sense once you see the map. Working at a hotel means there is never a quiet day. We are always fixing something or checking someone in. The floors need mopping constantly because of the dust that blows in from the road outside. I have been working here for a few years now and it has become like a second home. The rooms are basic but they stay clean and that is what people usually care about when they are traveling through. We get a lot of people stopping by who are just passing through the state. The tea we make in the morning is probably the highlight for most of us staff members. It is a big building and keeping track of everything can be a headache sometimes. We don't have a huge team, so everyone chips in where they can. If the plumbing acts up, we fix it ourselves. It is just a regular place for people to sleep. We try to keep the noise down at night so guests can actually rest. It is a lot of laundry and a lot of keys to keep track of every single day.
