The Grand

We are located at H-102 in the Shree Ganesh Apartment building over in I.P. Extension. It’s a residential area in Patparganj, so it’s a bit quieter than the main roads of Delhi. The name is 'The Grand,' but we are actually a pretty small operation tucked inside an apartment complex. We mostly handle guests who are looking for a place that feels a bit more like a home than a big hotel. We spend most of our time keeping the rooms tidy and making sure the geysers are working for hot water. It’s just a few of us running the place, so we end up doing a bit of everything, from checking people in to making sure the breakfast is ready on time. The apartment itself has been modified a bit to make it work for guests, but it still has that lived-in feel. We have a lot of plants on the balcony because we like a bit of green around. Sometimes the lift in the building gets stuck, so we have to apologize to people for the stairs. We don’t have a big lobby or a concierge; it’s usually just one of us sitting at a small desk near the entrance. It’s a simple life here in Patparganj. We just try to make sure people have a decent place to sleep without any unnecessary drama or fancy talk. It’s just us doing our best with what we have, day in and day out, for whoever rings the doorbell.
