The Claridges

Up in Roorkee, specifically in Durga Colony at House Number F/4, is where you will find us. The Claridges is located in a residential area, so it’s much quieter than the main markets in town. We like it that way because it makes the work day feel a bit less stressful. The house itself is a standard Uttarakhand style building, and we use a couple of the front rooms for our daily operations. There is a small garden out front that someone tries to keep tidy, though the weeds usually win in the end. Most of our neighbors are families, so we see kids playing in the street when school gets out in the afternoon. Inside, we have some wooden chairs and a big table where we spread out all our paperwork. It’s not a fancy setup, and we don't have a big sign with bright lights. Most people who come to see us are from around the colony or have been told exactly where F/4 is. Sometimes we have to give directions over the phone because the street names in Durga Colony can be a bit confusing for outsiders who aren't used to the area. We spend our time checking through lists and making sure everything is in order. It’s steady work, and we don’t feel the need to rush things or act like we are in a big city. It is just a regular local spot for us and we enjoy being here.
