The Claridges (Surajkund)

We’ve been out here in Surajkund for a good while now. It’s a bit different than being right in the middle of Delhi because the air feels a little clearer, especially in the mornings before the traffic really kicks in. The building itself has its own character, and we spend a lot of our time just keeping everything running the way it should. Most days start with a quick walk around the grounds to see what needs fixing or tidying up. People who come through here usually mention how they like the quiet, and we agree, though it can get pretty busy during certain times of the year when there are events nearby. Our staff mostly lives around the area, so we know the shortcuts and the best places to grab a quick bite when we aren't working. It isn't a fancy corporate setup where everything is scripted. We just talk to people like they are neighbors. Sometimes the lobby gets a bit crowded, and you can hear the hum of voices echoing off the walls, but that's just how it is. We don't have some big fancy mission statement pinned to the wall. We just show up, make sure the rooms are ready, the garden looks decent, and that everyone has what they need. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets really hot in the summer, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of this place. We just take things one day at a time here.
