The Baker

So, our place is called The Baker. We are located at 19/2 on the first floor in R Block of Ramesh Park. If you know Laxmi Nagar in Delhi 92, you know it's a very crowded area. Finding us can be a bit of a challenge because the lanes are narrow and look the same. We are just a small bakery setup, not a huge factory. It’s mostly about the smell of fresh bread and cakes when you walk up the stairs. It’s not a fancy cafe where you sit for hours with a laptop. It’s more of a place where we bake things and people come to pick them up or we send them out. The kitchen is small but we make it work. We’ve got flour on the floors most of the time. It’s just a few of us working here every day. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on getting the dough right and making sure the oven isn't too hot. Sometimes the power cuts off and we have to scramble to save the batch, which is always a bit stressful. We’ve been in this Ramesh Park spot for a while now. The neighbors are used to the noise of our mixers starting up early in the morning. It’s a basic, honest way to make a living in the city. We aren't trying to be some gourmet shop. We just make bread for the folks around here.
