Thakur Furniture is based at C B- 52 in Naraina. If you walk into our workshop, you’ll probably start sneezing because of all the sawdust in the air. We’ve got wood planks leaned up against almost every wall and the sound of saws is pretty much constant. It’s a hardworking place. We don't have a shiny showroom with bright lights. Most of what we have is just raw materials and pieces of furniture in different stages of being finished. We spend our days measuring twice and cutting once, hopefully. Our hands are rough and we usually have wood glue under our fingernails. It’s an industrial area, so it’s not exactly peaceful, but it’s where we get things done. We make tables, chairs, and beds for local families and businesses. Sometimes the design is simple and sometimes it’s a bit more work, but we just take it as it comes. We’ve got a couple of old fans trying to keep us cool while we work the lathes. It’s a lot of physical labor and our backs usually ache by the time we lock up the shutters. Naraina is a good place for a shop like ours because everything we need is close by. We aren't fancy people. We just like the smell of cedar and the feeling of finishing a solid piece of wood.
