Bhartendu Furniture

Bhartendu Furniture is based right here in Jitar Nagar. Our workshop is not a big showroom with bright lights. It’s a place where we actually work with wood and tools all day long. You can usually hear the saws going or the sound of someone hammering if you walk by. There is almost always sawdust on the floor and on our clothes by the end of the shift. We make various items like beds, tables, and chairs for the people living nearby. Jitar Nagar is a local neighborhood and we’ve gotten used to the way things work around here. We keep some finished pieces out front so people can see them, but a lot of what we have is just work in progress. It gets a bit crowded inside when we have several orders going at once. We don’t spend much time on computers or fancy paperwork. Most of our notes are scribbled on scraps of wood or small notebooks we keep in our pockets. We just focus on getting the joints right and making sure the wood is sanded down enough so nobody gets a splinter. Sometimes customers come in with their own ideas and we try to figure out how to make it work with the materials we have. It’s a simple way of living and working. We just stay busy and try to finish things on time for the neighbors. It's a modest shop but it stays active every day.
