Taj Palace Hotel,New Delhi

Our location is a bit unusual for what you might expect. We are at Eastern Pocket Block P-1224/1, within the Hissar Cantt area in Haryana. This is a military zone, specifically linked to the 234 Armd Engrs Regt and we use the 56 APO address for our mail. Even though the name is Taj Palace Hotel, this particular site is more of a support or administrative office in a cantonment setting. It’s very different from the busy streets of New Delhi. Everything here is very orderly and quiet. The buildings are painted in standard colors and the grass is kept very short. Our workspace is quite simple. We have metal desks, some basic chairs, and a lot of filing cabinets for the records. We don't have any fancy decorations or soft carpets. It’s all about getting the administrative work done for the unit. We follow a strict schedule every day. The morning starts early with the sound of the bugle or the trucks moving out. We spend our time checking lists, managing supplies, and making sure the paperwork for the personnel is correct. It’s a very focused environment. We don’t get many visitors from outside the base. Our mail comes through the army system, so that’s a big part of our routine. We just do our part in the larger system without any fuss. It’s a steady, quiet life.
