Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi

We've been here in Safdarjung Enclave for a while now. It's a busy spot in Humayunpur and things stay moving from early morning until very late at night. You probably know the building if you live around New Delhi or drive through this area often. Most of us who work here have been around for years, so we know the hallways and the kitchen noises better than our own homes. It gets loud sometimes, especially when the city traffic is heavy outside, but that’s just how it is in this part of Delhi. We spend most of our day just making sure the rooms are tidy and the food is coming out of the kitchen on time. It's not fancy talk, just a lot of walking back and forth. Sometimes the elevators act up or a light bulb flickers, and we just get to fixing it as fast as we can. We see a lot of different faces coming through the doors, some people staying for a night and others just stopping by for a bit. It's a big place, so there's always something that needs doing. Usually, you'll find someone at the front desk or moving luggage around. We don't really have a big script we follow, we just try to help people out when they ask for something. It's a job that keeps us on our feet, and the neighborhood feels like home to most of the staff. We just keep the doors open and do the work.
