Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi

We’ve been here at 16/97 Subhash Nagar for a while now. It’s a busy part of New Delhi, and honestly, things can get a bit loud outside with the traffic and people going about their day. We just focus on keeping the rooms decent and making sure everyone who walks through the door has a place to sit and rest. It’s not fancy, but it works. Most of us here have been working together for years, so we kind of know how each other thinks. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or we have to repaint a wall because someone scuffed it, but that's just how it goes when you run a hotel. We spend a lot of time just checking the registers and making sure the laundry is done on time. It’s a lot of physical work, especially during the humid months when everyone wants the fans or the cooling to be perfect. People come and go, some stay for a night, some stay longer. We don’t really do big speeches or anything like that. We just show up, open the doors, and handle whatever the day brings. Usually, that means answering the phone or showing someone where the nearest market is. Subhash Nagar is a decent spot to be in because everything is close by. We just try to keep things moving along without too much fuss. It's just a regular business where we all know our jobs and try to do them right.
