Our place is located right at House Number 10 in Friends Colony, which is a fairly easy spot to find if you are looking for the new petrol pump. It is right across from there in Una. Living and working here in Himachal Pradesh has a different pace than the big cities. We mostly deal with people coming through who need a place to stay or have questions about the area. The building itself feels more like a home than a big corporate office. We spend a lot of time cleaning the rooms and making sure the front area looks decent for whoever arrives. Sometimes the phone rings at 01975-279028 and it’s just someone asking for directions because they got lost near the pump. We don’t mind. The weather here can get quite cold in the winter months, so we spend a lot of time checking the heaters and making sure there are enough blankets. It’s a local operation, really. We see the same people walking their dogs in the colony every evening. Being near the petrol pump means there is always a bit of noise from the cars, but inside the house, it stays mostly quiet. We have a few staff members who have been here since the start. We just handle the bookings and try to make sure the guests have what they need, like a hot kettle or a towel. It’s just how things go here in Una. We don’t do much advertising, word of mouth usually does it.
