Tabularasa Restaurant

So, we are over here at Group House No-A/12. It’s in Sector 8C, up in Baurari. Tehri is a quiet place most of the time, especially in the mornings when the fog is still hanging over the hills in Uttaranchal. Tabularasa Restaurant is what we call it, though most of the locals just know us by the building number. We’ve got some tables and chairs that don't all match, but they work well enough for anyone wanting to sit down for a bit. The address is 249001, in case you’re looking for the mail. It’s not like those big places in the city. We do things a bit slower here. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just light some candles and keep going until the lights flicker back on. My brother helps with the cooking, and I mostly handle the people coming in and out of the front door. It’s a small kitchen, and it gets pretty warm in there when the stove has been on all day. We’ve lived in this part of India our whole lives, so we know most of the people who walk by the house. There’s a bit of a view of the surrounding area if you stand in the right spot outside by the gate. We don’t have any fancy signs or anything, just the name on the door. It’s a simple life, really. We just make sure there’s food ready and the place is swept up before people show up.
