Swiss Cabs India is tucked away on the third floor of J-4/93 in the Khirki Extension area of Malviya Nagar. New Delhi traffic is something we deal with every single hour of the day, as you can imagine for a cab company. Our office is where we manage the drivers and take care of the bookings that come in. It’s a bit of a climb up to the third floor, but it’s our base. We spend a lot of time on the phone, coordinating where cars need to go and making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of talking to drivers about routes and dealing with the usual car maintenance issues that pop up. The Khirki area is always full of life and people, which makes it an interesting place to work. We’ve got our regular drivers who have been with us for a long time, and we just try to keep the wheels turning, literally. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing, especially during the morning rush or when the weather gets bad in Delhi. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It's just desks, computers, and a lot of maps. We focus on getting people from one place to another without a lot of drama. It’s simple work but it takes a lot of attention to detail to keep everything moving smoothly through the city streets.
