Steward At The Metropolitan Hotel

Our place is in Angadpur, Durgapur-15, which is in the Dist-Burdwan part of West Bengal. It is not right in the middle of everything, but it is where we work. We are the stewards here at the Metropolitan Hotel. It is a lot of hard work, mostly being on your feet all day and making sure everything is in the right place. We don't have a lot of fancy things to say about ourselves. We just show up for our shifts and do what needs to be done. Durgapur is a place where people work hard, and we are no different. The hotel can get quite busy when there are events or a lot of travelers, and those days are really long. We try to keep our heads down and just focus on the tasks at hand. Sometimes the kitchen is too hot or the guests are in a hurry, and we just have to deal with it. We don't have any corporate mission statements or anything like that hanging on the walls. It is just a job that we do to earn a living. Most of the staff here are local people from the district. We talk about simple things during our breaks and then get back to work. It’s a very normal way to spend a day. We just make sure the rooms and tables are ready for whoever comes through the door.
