Over at 174/15 Vasundhra in Gghazibad, things are usually humming along at a steady pace. Sterling Holiday Resorts India Ltd. has this office here, and it’s where we deal with all the details of people's trips. The building isn’t new, and the elevator can be a little temperamental, so many of us just take the stairs. Inside, the desks are covered in maps, brochures, and printouts of hotel bookings. We hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day—the honking cars and the local vendors. It’s a very Uttar Pradesh kind of atmosphere. We don't spend money on fancy decorations; we just have what we need to get the work done. The tea lady comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a second to breathe. There’s a lot of talking on the phone, explaining things to people and making sure their dates are right. Sometimes the printer jams right when we’re in a hurry, which is always annoying, but we manage. It’s just a regular office full of people who are trying to help others have a good time on their breaks. We’ve been in Vasundhra for a bit, and it’s a good spot for us. It’s not a shiny corporate headquarters, just a place where we put in our hours and keep the wheels turning. We usually stay late on Fridays to finish the paperwork.
