Sr Server

We are based at J-27/A in Laxmi Nagar, which is one of the most crowded and energetic parts of East Delhi. Our workspace is pretty much dedicated to servers and computer hardware. Because we have so many machines running all the time, the room is usually quite warm and filled with the constant hum of fans. It’s not a large space, so we have to be careful not to trip over the cables that run across the floor. We spend our hours looking at code, checking server status, and fixing hardware that has quit on us. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some technical diagrams and a lot of shelving for spare parts. Most of the people who come to see us are from the local area or run small offices nearby. Laxmi Nagar is full of students and small businesses, so there is always someone needing something fixed. We aren't corporate people. We usually have lunch from one of the local stalls nearby and eat while we work. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to manage the backup systems quickly. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we’ve been doing it for a while now. We just focus on the machines and making sure everything stays online. It's just a regular day's work for us.
