Down in Sector 66, Mamura, things are always humming along at a steady pace. If you come by our place, you’ll hear the constant sound of typing and people talking into their headsets. It’s a BPO, so the lights never really go out. We have people coming in for night shifts while the rest of the world is sleeping, and then the morning crew takes over. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and looking at data, which can be tiring, but the team keeps each other going with jokes and tea breaks. The area around Mamura is usually crowded, so just getting into the office can be a bit of a struggle some mornings. We don’t have any fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a functional space where we handle the tasks assigned to us. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and it feels like we’re underwater, but we just push through the pile. We’ve got people from all over living nearby, so the office has a mix of different voices and styles. We don't spend time on big meetings or fancy presentations. We mostly just focus on the screens and making sure the entries are correct. It’s a straightforward job, and we try to do it as honestly as we can. It’s just a regular workplace where everyone is trying to do their part and get through the day without too much extra stress.
