Speed Air Conditioning

Working on air conditioners in Ashok Vihar means we are very busy when the heat starts hitting in April. Our place is at C 14 in Phase II. It’s more of a workshop than a showroom. You’ll see a lot of old units sitting outside waiting for parts or a good cleaning. We spend most of our time out at people’s houses, so the shop is often just one person sitting with the phone. It’s a messy business with all the gas tanks and copper pipes laying around. We try to keep the tools organized, but in the middle of a busy week, things just end up on the floor. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains from the compressors. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time. People around here know us because we’ve fixed their units for years. It isn't glamorous work. It’s sweaty and loud. Sometimes a unit is just too old to fix, and we have to tell the owner that. We don't like giving bad news, but that's how it is. We drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when we can. In the winter, things slow down a lot. We spend those months cleaning up the shop and getting ready for the next big heatwave. It’s a cycle we are used to by now. It keeps us going every year without much change. It's just how the AC business works around here.
