Sous Chef

Our place is located in Hanuman Nagar, right in the FCI area of Karimnagar. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city center, but we like it here well enough. Being in Andhara Pradesh, it gets incredibly hot during the summer months, so we spend a lot of time trying to keep the kitchen cool while we work. We do a lot of prep work every day, chopping vegetables and getting the ingredients ready for whatever needs to be cooked. It is a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet for hours at a time. The staff here are mostly local guys who know their way around a kitchen. We do not have any big corporate rules; we just show up and get the work done. We deal with suppliers coming in and out all morning, bringing in fresh bags of rice or crates of produce. Sometimes things get mixed up, or an order is wrong, and we have to scramble to fix it before the day gets too far along. It’s a lot of work, and by the end of the shift, we are all pretty tired. But it is what we do. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, except for the sounds from the nearby houses. We just keep our heads down.
