Sotc (Kuoni Travel Group)

Sotc (Kuoni Travel Group) has a small setup here in Karera, Shivpuri, right in front of the New Power House. It’s a very specific landmark, so people in town know exactly where we are. Working in a place like Karera is much different than being in a big city. Things move a bit slower here. We spend our time helping locals plan their trips or figure out their travel documents. The office is simple, just a few desks and some travel brochures that are probably a bit dusty. Since we are across from the power house, we usually have a good idea of when the electricity might go out for maintenance. We just sit and chat while we wait for the systems to come back up. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere. We don't wear formal suits or anything. We just wear what is comfortable for the Madhya Pradesh heat. We know everyone’s name who comes in, and that’s the way we like it. It’s not about big corporate goals for us; it’s just about helping someone get to where they need to go. Sometimes we have to explain things multiple times because the internet is slow, but we don't mind. It’s just our daily life in Shivpuri, and we are happy to be a part of the neighborhood here in Karera. We usually lock up the office and head home around six in the evening.
