We operate out of unit 23 in the Community Center at the Lawrence Road Industrial Area. Sona Sales Agencies isn’t a very big place, just enough room for our inventory and a couple of desks. The Lawrence Road area is always packed with people moving goods, and we are right in the thick of it. Our day usually starts with checking what arrived on the overnight trucks and getting the shelves organized. We deal with various products, acting as the middleman for different brands. It’s not a glamorous job. Most of our time is spent on the phone talking to suppliers or helping a customer who walked in looking for something specific. The walls are lined with boxes, and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit down. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate values posted on the walls; we just try to keep the stock moving and the prices fair. The community center itself has seen better days, and the parking outside is always a nightmare, but it’s a good location for what we do. We know the other shop owners around here, and we often help each other out when things get busy. It’s a straightforward sales business where we prefer a hand-shake over a long contract. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. Most of our customers have been with us for years.
