Snow Leopard Adventures (P) Ltd.

Snow Leopard Adventures is based at Sri Bhawan on Mall Road in Ranikhet. We are up in the hills of Uttaranchal, and the air here is a lot fresher than in the plains. The office is in a building that has been around for a long time. We spend most of our hours checking on the tents, sleeping bags, and other trekking equipment. It is important to make sure everything is in good condition before a group goes out into the mountains. We talk to a lot of people who want to know about the local trails and how difficult the climbs are. Since we live here, we know the weather can change very quickly. Sometimes we just sit and watch the clouds over the peaks while we wait for the next group to arrive. The Mall Road is a nice place to walk, but it can get quite busy with tourists during the summer months. In the winter, it is very quiet and we spend more time repairing gear by the fire. We don't have a lot of fancy office equipment. We just have what we need to get the job done. It is a simple way of living and working. We just want to make sure people have a safe trip when they go out with our guides. It’s a lot of physical work, especially moving the heavy bags around. We like the mountain life.
