Smoke House Grill

Lado Sarai is a funny place because one minute you are looking at a high-end art gallery and the next you are in a dusty lane. Smoke House Grill is located at F-101, right near the Mehrauli area. The building is easy enough to spot if you are looking for the number on the wall. We spend a lot of time around the grill, obviously. It gets pretty warm in there, and the smell of smoke stays on your clothes even after you leave. We are not trying to be the fanciest place in New Delhi. We just want to make sure the food is cooked right and the tables are clean for the next person. Sometimes the floors get a bit scuffed up from all the boots coming in and out, but that is just part of the business. The staff is usually busy prepping in the back or cleaning up the front area. We do not have any big mission statements or posters on the wall telling people how great we are. We just let the work speak for itself. Lado Sarai has a lot of character, and we feel like we fit right in with the mix of old and new. It is a lot of long hours and standing on our feet, but we are used to it by now. When the sun goes down, the street gets a bit quieter.
