Slice Of Italy

Our shop, Slice Of Italy, is over in Shahdara at B-143, West Nathu Colony. We are right on Street Number 3, just off Mandoli Road. It’s a busy part of Delhi-110093, and there’s always a lot of traffic and noise outside. Inside, it’s mostly about the ovens. We spend most of our shift making pizzas and pasta. It gets pretty hot in the kitchen, especially during the summer months. We don’t have a fancy dining room with white tablecloths. It’s more of a local spot where people come to pick up a quick meal or wait for their delivery. The flour gets everywhere, on our clothes and on the counters, but that’s just part of the job. We try to keep the orders moving so nobody has to wait too long. The delivery bikes are always coming and going through the narrow streets of West Nathu Colony. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been here long enough that we know the shortcuts in the neighborhood. We don’t talk about being the best or having a big mission. We just want to get the food out and keep the ovens running. It’s a simple life, making dough and topping pizzas for the people around here. It's noisy, it's hot, and we are usually covered in some kind of sauce by the end of the night.
