Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has its roots deep in this part of town. Our office is over at 166-B in Aram Bagh, which is right in the thick of Pahar Ganj. If you’ve ever walked through Pahar Ganj, you know it’s never still. There’s always someone moving, a rickshaw honking, or the smell of food from a nearby stall. It’s a bit chaotic, but that’s just New Delhi for you. We work out of this space and it’s definitely seen better days, but it does the job. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but we don’t mind it much. We spend most of our time coordinating things, talking to people, and making sure the administrative side of the hospital work doesn't fall behind. It’s not all shiny floors and quiet hallways like you see in movies. It’s busy and loud. Sometimes the power goes out for a minute and we just sit there waiting for the generator to kick in so we can get back to the computers. We’ve been here long enough that we know the tea seller around the corner by name. It’s just a group of us trying to stay organized in a very disorganized part of the city. We don't have a big lobby or fancy furniture, just desks, chairs, and a lot of files that need looking after every single day.
