Our office is up on the 12th floor of Tower 10B in DLF Phase 2. It’s a big building and we share some space or are right near the Lufthansa folks. Working for Singapore Airlines in Gurgaon means a lot of commuting and dealing with the typical city traffic before we even get to the desk. Once we are up there, it's mostly about managing the local side of things for the airline. We have the computers going all day and people calling about tickets or lost bags or whatever else comes up when people fly across the world. The view from the 12th floor is okay, but mostly we are looking at screens. It is a corporate environment but we try to keep it normal between us staff. We aren't the pilots or the crew you see on the plane; we are the ones in the office making sure the numbers match and the bookings are actually in the system. Sometimes the systems go down and everyone gets a bit stressed, but we just wait it out and fix it when we can. It’s a job like any other, just with more talk about airplanes and schedules. Gurgaon is always noisy outside, but it's quiet enough inside the tower to get the work done. We stay until the shift is over and then head back down into the heat of the city. There is always a lot of coffee being drunk here.
