Simran Holidays

Simran Holidays operates out of Lajwanti Garden in the D Block of Janakpuri. New Delhi is a huge place, but this little corner is where we do all our planning. The office is right in the middle of a residential and commercial mix. You can always hear the cars and scooters outside in the street. We spend our time looking at maps, checking flight prices, and trying to piece together itineraries for people who want to go on vacation. It’s a lot of phone calls and back-and-forth emails. The office isn't very large, so we have to stay organized with our stacks of brochures and booking receipts. We’ve been in Janakpuri for a while, and we know the local shops around here pretty well. We usually go out for lunch at one of the stalls nearby. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a relief during the Delhi summers. We aren't some giant travel corporation; we are just a small team trying to keep up with all the requests. Sometimes the printer jams right when we need to hand over a ticket, which is frustrating, but that’s just how it goes. We take things one day at a time, answering questions about visas or hotel locations. It’s a steady job that keeps us connected to the neighborhood while we think about far-off places. We’ve been at this D Block location since we started the business.
