Silhouette Salon, Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi

Our place is down in Saket, specifically at D-59 in the Paryavaran Complex area. It is right off the I.G.N.O.U Road, so the traffic can be quite something during the evenings. We spend our days dealing with hair, skin, and all that. It is a lot of standing on your feet. The mirrors always need cleaning and there is always hair on the floor that needs sweeping. We have a few regulars who have been coming to us for years. They usually just walk in and know exactly which chair they want. The air conditioner works most of the time, which is a relief in the summer. We keep the magazines on the table updated when we remember. Our staff mostly chats about their own families when there aren't many customers around. It is a simple setup with the usual salon smells like shampoo and hairspray. We have the standard chairs and the washing stations in the back. Sometimes it gets really loud when everyone is talking at once. We don't do anything too fancy, just the regular cuts and styles people ask for at Silhouette Salon. Saket is a busy part of New Delhi, so we see all kinds of people walking past our door. It is a decent spot to work and we keep ourselves busy from morning till late. We try to keep the place tidy but it gets messy fast during a rush. It’s a good neighborhood to be in. We've been here for a while.
