Shubham Hotels & Resorts is right on Gandhi Road in Vrindavan. If you know the area, you know how number 3 is situated near the main flow of traffic. Being in Mathura district means we deal with a lot of people coming for the temples and the general vibe of the town. The building itself has been through a lot of seasons. We spend most of our mornings checking the laundry and making sure the water heaters are working properly because guests always ask about that first. The street outside is almost never quiet, with rickshaws and people walking by at all hours. We have a small desk at the front where we keep the ledger. It’s a manual process mostly, writing down names and taking IDs. We don’t have those fancy automatic doors or anything like that. Sometimes the monkeys on Gandhi Road get a bit too close to the entrance, and we have to shoo them away so they don't grab anyone's bag. The staff is just a handful of local guys who live nearby. We eat our lunch in the back room and take turns watching the gate. It’s a practical business, focusing on getting rooms ready and making sure nobody gets lost trying to find the temple. We don't talk about grand visions; we just talk about whether the floor is swept and if the keys are in the right hooks. It’s just how things work here in Vrindavan.
