Sharma Brothers

Kashmere Gate is a place that never really sleeps, and Bara Bazar is the heart of it. Sharma Brothers is located at number 1054. The building is old, with narrow stairs and high ceilings, typical of this part of Delhi. We have been working here for quite some time now. Most of what we do involves trading and wholesale. The shop is usually filled with boxes and the smell of old paper and dust. Dealing with customers in Bara Bazar requires a lot of patience because the lanes are so narrow and the noise is constant. We don't have a website or a fancy logo. Most people know us because their fathers or grandfathers did business with us. It’s a family thing. We start the day with a small prayer and then it’s just phone calls and paperwork until evening. Sometimes the neighbors come over for a chat and some tea, which is the best part of the day. We don’t try to act like a big corporation. We are just local traders who know our market. If someone needs something specific, we usually know which corner of the warehouse it’s hiding in. It’s a traditional way of doing business, based on knowing people and keeping your word. We just keep doing what we’ve always done without needing to make much of a fuss about it.
