Shalin Telecom is tucked away here at number 34 in Meherchand Market. Lodhi Road is always moving, but this little corner feels a bit different. I started this shop because I liked fixing electronics, and it just grew from there over the years. It is not a huge operation at all. We mostly sit behind the glass counter and look at circuit boards or help people find the right cable for their old phones. The shop isn't perfectly organized, to be honest. There are boxes of spare parts under the table and sometimes the light flickers if we turn on too many things at once. We get a lot of regulars from the neighborhood who just drop by to chat. Some people just come in to ask a quick question about their signal or a weird app. We don't mind. It is part of being in a market like this. The floor is a bit worn out from all the walking, but it shows we have been busy. Meherchand has changed quite a bit, but we stay pretty much the same. We have the usual stuff like sim cards, recharges, and phone fixes. It is honest work. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once, but we manage just fine. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Delhi. We just want to do the job and go home at night. That is really the way we like to do things here.
