Our office is tucked away in 38-C, G.G.-1 over in Vikas Puri. If you live around this part of New Delhi, you probably know the area pretty well. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with the house numbers, but we’ve been here long enough that the neighbors all know us. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of desks and a lot of registers. We don’t really go in for those modern office decorations. There are a few fans humming away to keep the air moving. Every morning starts with opening up the shutters and letting a bit of light in. We deal with a lot of people every day, so there is always a bit of a queue or someone waiting. It gets a bit loud during the peak hours. We try to keep things moving along so nobody has to wait too long. Lunch usually happens in shifts because there’s always someone coming in. We bring our tiffins from home and eat quickly. The floor is that old-fashioned tile that’s easy to clean but always looks a bit worn down. It’s a practical space. We aren't trying to impress anyone with how the place looks. We are just here to handle the daily business that comes through the door. It’s just a regular workplace in a busy neighborhood. People stop by to chat sometimes, and we just keep the work going alongside the talk.
