Sarovar Portico

Up in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, you can find us at Vpo Maharal in the Teh Barsar area of Hamirpur district. We are part of the Sarovar Portico team working out here where the air is a bit fresher than the big cities. The office is pretty basic, reflecting the rural setting we are in. We deal with guests who are coming to visit the area, and we also spend a lot of time on the local administrative tasks that keep a place like this running. It is a different pace of life here; things don't always move as fast as they do in Delhi. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet is slow because of the weather, but we are used to that. We just sit together and wait it out, or find something else to do that doesn't need a computer. The local people from the village often stop by to say hello, so it feels like a very connected part of the community. We don't have any of those big corporate policies that make everything feel cold; it is just us trying to be helpful and making sure the property is looked after. It is a simple life, and we like being able to see the mountains when we step outside for a break. Most of us have lived around here for a long time.
