We have been operating Saradha Tours & Travels Pvt. Ltd. from our small spot here at Wz 542 in Shakoorpur for a while now. Gali No-1 is usually quite busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading out to work. Dealing with travel arrangements from this Srinagar area involves a lot of phone calls and keeping track of paperwork that piles up on the desks. We spend most of our time looking at ticket prices and trying to figure out the best routes for people who walk in. It’s not a fancy office, just a practical place where we sit and work. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power cuts out for a bit, but we just wait it out and get back to it. Most of the folks who come to us are locals from the neighborhood who know us by name. We don't do much fancy advertising because the signboard outside does enough to let people know where we are. Dealing with train and bus bookings takes up a good chunk of the afternoon. It gets dusty inside because of the road work outside, but we keep the fans going and keep moving. There is always someone coming in asking about prices for trips to places they’ve seen on TV. We just tell them what is available and what the costs are without making it complicated. It's just a regular job for us here in Shakoorpur, keeping things moving day after day.
