Sankalp Authentic South Indian Restaurant

Our little spot is in Sheikh Sarai, over in Pocket K. If you’re looking for South Indian food, we’ve been serving it here for a while. We aren't a massive place, just a regular restaurant where we focus on the sambar and the dosas. The kitchen is always warm because the stoves are going from morning until late at night. We get a lot of locals from Phase II coming in. It’s nice to see the same faces every week. We make everything fresh, so sometimes there is a bit of a wait when it gets crowded. The staff is mostly just a few of us who have worked together for years. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just this shop in New Delhi. We spend a lot of time grinding the rice and lentils for the batter. It’s hard work, especially when the summer heat hits. We keep the place tidy and try to make sure everyone leaves full. Sometimes we run out of things if the market was short that morning, but we usually manage. It’s just a simple business. No big promises, just good food on the plate. If you’re around the neighborhood, you’ll likely hear the sound of the pans clinking from the street. We usually have some music playing in the background to keep us going. The 90 A address is easy to find if you know the area. Come on in and grab a seat.
