We are up here on the top floor in Shahpurjat, right at 377-A. It is a bit of a climb if you are not used to stairs, but that is just how these old buildings in the village are. Mostly, we spend our days dealing with whatever comes through the door. The neighborhood is always changing, one day it is a new boutique and the next it is a cafe closing down. We have been in this spot for a while now. It gets hot in the summers, so we keep the fans going all day. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit there waiting for the backup to kick in. It is not fancy here, just a regular workplace where we try to get things done. You can see the rooftops from the windows if you look out at the right angle. We mostly keep to ourselves but know the guys downstairs pretty well. It is a busy area with narrow lanes so parking is always a headache for everyone. We usually just walk or take an auto from the metro station. Life in South Delhi is fast, but up on this floor, things feel a bit slower once the door is shut. We drink a lot of chai throughout the afternoon to stay focused. It is just a place where we work and try to keep things running. No big story behind it, really. Just real people doing their jobs in a crowded part of the city.
