Our spot is down in Mayur Vihar Phase 1, specifically in Chillavillage. It’s one of those parts of New Delhi where everyone knows each other. The shop is usually a bit dusty because of all the equipment and the parts we keep moving around. We deal with power stuff and machines mostly. You’ll find us wearing work clothes that have seen better days. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains here and there. That’s just part of the job. Most mornings start with a cup of tea from the stall around the corner while we look at the list of what needs fixing. It’s not a quiet office. There is always some noise from the tools or someone calling out from the back. We have been in this area for a bit, so we have seen the neighborhood change quite a lot. The traffic on the main road can be a real headache in the evenings. We just keep our heads down and do the work. There isn't any fancy lobby or receptionist here. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-task. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time. Sometimes things get busy and we stay late to finish up a project. We don’t mind it much. Chillavillage has a certain rhythm to it and we are just a small part of that daily cycle in this corner of Delhi 91. It stays busy from morning till the sun goes down and we lock up for the night.
