Retired From Iaf After 20 Yrs Of Service On 31 Jul 2008

I ended up settling down here at Rzh-14, specifically in Room No-12. This is on Street No-3 near Solanki Chowk in the Raj Nagar-II Palam area of New Delhi. My whole life was different before. I was with the IAF for 20 years and finally finished my service on 31 Jul 2008. Since then, I have just been doing my own thing. Room No-12 is not very big, but it is enough for what I need. Palam is a busy part of New Delhi, especially with the airport being so close. You can hear the planes sometimes, which reminds me of the old days. Solanki Chowk is always a mess of rickshaws and people buying vegetables. I have been living here since I left the service. It is a simple life now compared to the military. I do not have a big company or a bunch of staff. It is just me at this address. The street can get pretty dusty in the summer and when it rains, the water pools up a bit near the entrance. I spend my time reading or just watching the world go by from the doorway. 20 years is a long time to serve, and after 31 Jul 2008, I just wanted a place to stay quiet. This room in Raj Nagar-II is where I ended up. It is nothing fancy, just a room with my stuff in it and some old memories. It suits me fine.
