Reliance Money

You can find Reliance Money over in Shahdara, specifically at 1449/M-4 on Street 09 in Durga Puri. It’s right on Loni Road, so it stays pretty hectic outside with all the rickshaws and commuters passing by. The office itself is pretty straightforward, just a place where we handle financial documents and talk to people about their accounts. We’ve got some sturdy tables and a bunch of calculators that we’ve had for years. The Delhi heat can be a bit much in the summer, especially since the front door stays open most of the day for people walking in. We don't really do the whole corporate vibe here. It’s more about sitting down with a neighbor and going over their paperwork while someone in the back is making lunch. The walls are a plain off-white, and we have a clock that’s always five minutes fast, but no one bothers to fix it. We spend our time checking numbers and filing away folders in those big grey metal cabinets. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Most of the folks who come in are from around the Shahdara area, so we know a lot of them by name. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep the paperwork from piling up too high on the desks, even though it usually does by Wednesday. We just take it one customer at a time and keep things moving.
