Our work at Rave@Moti Entertainment involves a lot of moving parts. I work as a cashier, so I see just about everyone who comes through. The office and the entertainment area are usually buzzing with people. It’s not a quiet job. There’s always music playing or people talking loudly. We don’t really have a fancy way of describing what we do. We just make sure the tickets are sold, the money is counted right, and the customers aren't waiting too long. Sometimes the ticket machines jam or the power flickers, which is pretty common in Kanpur, and we just have to deal with it on the fly. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to people from all walks of life. We don’t use a lot of professional jargon or anything like that. We just focus on getting through the shift and making sure the counts are correct at the end of the night. It’s a busy environment, especially on the weekends when everyone in the city seems to show up at once. We’re just a regular crew trying to keep the place running and the lines moving as best as we can. It takes a lot of patience, but that is just part of the routine here.
