This name is a bit of a mouthful, isn't it? We are actually over in Shyampur Rishikhas in Dehradun. It’s a different spot than the name might suggest. The hotel is tucked away. We have been here for quite some time now. The building has character. It's not like those new modern hotels that all look the same. We have some cracks in the pavement outside. The weather in Dehradun is nice, so we spend a lot of time by the windows. We handle the daily tasks ourselves. Cleaning, checking people in, making sure there is water. It's hard work sometimes. The staff is small. We all know each other well. Sometimes we have a meal together in the kitchen when things are quiet. Guests come from all over. They usually find us by word of mouth. We don't do much advertising. We just open the doors every morning. The address in Shyampur is easy enough to find once you are in the area. We have some trees around the property that give good shade. It’s a simple life running a hotel here. We don't have fancy tech. Just a ledger and some keys. Some nights are very quiet. Other nights we are full and it gets a bit chaotic. We just take it as it comes. It’s been our way for years. The mountains aren't too far away. We like the air here. It feels right.
