Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways has this spot at H.No.209, Block D16 in Sector 7, New Delhi. It is a residential block, so it is mostly houses around here. It might seem strange for a big airline to have an office in a house, but this is where we handle a lot of the local administrative work. It is quiet and away from the noise of the airport. We have a few rooms dedicated to different tasks. One room is full of computers where we check bookings and sort out schedules. Another room is mostly for filing. The house has a small garden out front that we try to keep green, but the Delhi heat makes it hard. We do not have a big glowing sign or anything. It just looks like any other house on the street. Inside, it is all business, though. We are constantly on the phone with the main office or with passengers who have questions. The staff here is small. We usually eat lunch together in the back area. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we try to keep the noise down and not have too many cars blocking the lane. It is a very different vibe from being at the terminal. Here, it is just about getting the paperwork right and making sure the systems are updated. It is a steady pace of work in a very normal, everyday Delhi street. No one here is wearing a full pilot uniform, just regular office clothes.
