Precious Vactations

Precious Vactations is tucked away at No. 1604 on the ground floor of Outram Lane. We are right there in GTB Nagar. It is a narrow street but it has a lot of life. Our office is small. We have a couple of desks and a lot of maps and papers lying around. People come in to ask about train tickets or where to go for a short break. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at screens. GTB Nagar is always moving, so there is always noise from the street coming through the door. We have a small sign outside. Sometimes people miss it the first time they walk by. We just help people figure out their trips. It isn’t very fancy inside. We have some old calendars on the wall and a dusty clock. We mostly work with families from around the neighborhood. We know which buses run late and which hotels are actually okay for kids. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan going. Sometimes we just sit and talk about places we want to visit ourselves one day. It is a nice way to spend the day. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to just pop their heads in and ask a quick question. We keep a handwritten diary of all the bookings. It’s mostly just us here, keeping track of things.
