Our place is tucked away near the Dabri police station in Sita Puri. If you know the area, you know it can be a bit of a maze getting around here. We’ve been at House Number 3 for a good bit now, serving up food to anyone who walks through the door. It’s not a massive corporate setup or anything like that. It’s mostly just us in the kitchen and a few folks out front. We focus on the cooking because that’s what people come for. The decor is what it is, and we try to keep the tables wiped down and the chairs straight. Some days it’s quiet, and other days the phone won't stop ringing with people asking where we are located exactly. Being near the station means we see all sorts of people. We don’t have some big fancy story about why we started. We just needed to work and we liked the food from back home, so here we are in New Delhi. The smells from the spices usually drift out onto the street, so that helps people find us. We buy our supplies locally and try to keep things simple. It’s a bit cramped when it’s full, but that’s just how it goes in this part of the city. We’re just regular people making sure the plates are full and the tea is hot. Nothing more to it than that. We just keep going.
