Our spot is right on the top floor of K-32 in the Old Double Storey part of Lajpat Nagar. If you know Delhi, you know how crowded and loud Lajpat Nagar can be. To get to us, you have to climb a few flights of stairs because the lift is often out of order or just too slow to bother with. It’s an old building, so the walls have that thick, aged feel to them. From the top floor, we can see the tops of other buildings and the busy streets down below where people are always shouting or selling something. The office is a bit messy with files and old maps lying around. We’ve been in this Delhi neighborhood for a while now. It’s not the quietest place to work, especially when the market downstairs is in full swing. We usually get our lunch from the local vendors nearby who make great parathas. There’s a lot of history in these double-storey houses, and you can feel it in the creaky doors and the way the sun hits the balcony in the evening. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just the basics like desks and some old chairs that have seen better days. It gets really hot in the summer, but we have an old AC that struggles along. It’s a practical place for us to handle our daily business without any extra fuss.
