Our location is a bit unique since we are based at House No.136 in the Maganj area, specifically Ward No.4 near the Old Loco Shed in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. It’s a different pace here compared to the big cities. This spot serves as a base for our retail operations in this part of the state. It’s an old building that has been adapted for our needs. We have a lot of stock coming in and going out, so there is usually a bit of dust and a lot of boxes moving around. Working for Pantaloon Retail India Ltd. from here means we focus on the logistics and the local distribution side of things. It’s a small team of us. We spend our mornings checking inventory and making sure the records match what’s actually on the shelves. Damoh is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone, so we often see familiar faces when deliveries happen. It isn't a shiny corporate headquarters. It’s a functional space with some old furniture and a lot of paperwork. We deal with the heat and the occasional power cut just like everyone else in the neighborhood. Our day-to-day is mostly about managing the flow of goods and making sure the retail side stays supported. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the items get where they need to go. It’s a steady job in a quiet part of town and we like it.
