Our office is in the Press Colony area of Maya Puri in New Delhi. It is a Type II/49 unit. If you know Maya Puri, you know it is very industrial and busy with a lot of trucks and workshops. Press Colony is a bit more residential but still has that gritty, hardworking feel of West Delhi. We do BPO work here, which means there are always people on headsets and the hum of computers running all day and night. It is not a shiny glass building in a corporate park. It is a modest place where we focus on getting the work done. The area around us has a lot of small tea shops and snack stalls where the staff goes during their breaks. The metro is nearby, which helps everyone get here on time. We have a lot of long shifts, so the office always has someone in it. We have a few old desks and some chairs that have seen better days, but they do the job. The walls are a bit plain, maybe they could use a fresh coat of paint, but that isn't a priority for us right now. We handle a lot of calls and data entry. It is the kind of place where you just come in, do your hours, and head home. The power goes out sometimes, so we have to deal with the backup generators kicking in.
