Our place is over in Sector E at House Number 28. It’s basically a converted residential space, which makes it feel more relaxed than a typical corporate office. Being a general sales agent for the airline means we have a lot of specific rules to follow, but we still run things in our own way. The house is usually full of the sound of phones ringing and the hum of the air conditioner trying to keep up with the Delhi heat. We handle a lot of bookings and questions about flights to the Middle East. It’s a lot of typing and checking passport details to make sure everything matches up. The street outside is usually busy with people coming and going, so there’s always something to look at out the window. We’ve got a small area for visitors to sit while we look up their information. It isn’t a massive operation, just a handful of us working together to keep the bookings straight. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out, chatting until the lights come back on. We know most of the people who work in the nearby houses too. It's a very local feel for an office that deals with international travel. We just show up every morning, open the gates, and start working through the list of things that need to get done before the evening rolls around and we can go home.
