We are over at 92 Double Story in Prithviraj Lane, just a short bit away from the main India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. This place has been our base for quite some time now and it feels like home more than an office. We spend most of our mornings dealing with the usual hospitality paperwork and trying to keep everything running for the different spots we manage. It is a busy area, New Delhi always is, and the street outside usually has cars parked everywhere. Some days are quieter than others when we just sit and plan out the events or look over the menus. We are not some giant faceless corporation with shiny glass walls, just a group of people in an older building trying to get things right. The office has piles of files and a few old desks that have seen better days but they work fine for what we need. People come in and out all day, mostly staff or local vendors dropping off supplies. Prithviraj Lane has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. It’s not always perfect here, sometimes the internet goes slow or the tea runs out, but we manage. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years but our spot stays pretty much the same, filled with people who know how the hospitality business really works from the ground up. It’s a lot of hard work but we enjoy it.
