Ogaan Publications

Ogaan Publications is over at 75, National Park. This is New Delhi-24, near the Lajpat Nagar side. It is a nice area because there are actually some trees around, which you do not always get in the city. The building is number 75. Inside, it is mostly just stacks of magazines and books. We have desks squeezed in between shelves. It is always a bit of a mess with proofs and layouts scattered everywhere. We have writers and designers coming in and out at all hours. The light in the office is a bit dim, but we have big windows that look out onto the street. You can hear the traffic from the main road, but it is mostly just the sound of keyboards clicking and people arguing over which photo looks better. We drink way too much coffee. There is a small pantry where the kettle is always on. We have been in National Park for a good while, so the local shopkeepers know us. It is not a fancy media house with a glass front. It feels more like a workshop. Everyone is usually busy with a deadline, so things can get a bit frantic toward the end of the month. We just try to get the pages out on time. The floors are a bit worn down and the chairs do not always match, but it is a good place to work if you do not mind the clutter and the noise.
